If (you’ll be a man, my son)

If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies, Or being hated, don’t give way to hating, And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

Lunch at the Banana Leaf Chinese Buffet Restaurant

The Banana Leaf Chinese Buffet Restaurant Middlesbrough

It’s nice to mix up your Sunday lunch with a variety of flavours so the this week we decide to visit the Banana Leaf Chinese Buffet Restaurant who according to their website position themselves as the biggest and best Chinese Buffet Restaurant in Middlesbrough. The Banana Leaf offers a buffet selection of over 60 dishes and with as much as you can eat you, I would presume you it needs more than one visit to try everything.

The Banana Leaf Chinese Buffet Restaurant Middlesbrough

The Banana Leaf Chinese Buffet Restaurant Middlesbrough

The Banana Leaf Chinese Buffet Restaurant is located just a few hundreds yards of the the Cleveland Centre so parking in the town at night may be limited and during the week busy so if you live local then it’s  probably best to travel by taxi.

The Banana Leaf is clean, has a waiting area, fully licensed with a lot of seating, mainly tables of 4 but a group could easily sit together and not feel apart. Visiting the restaurant on Sunday we where quickly seated, but we do like to eat early on a Sunday, so probably wasn’t going to be difficult. When you visit a Chinese buffet I would recommend you think about how you want to eat. Take a good look at all the dishes, don’t be forced to queue and fill your plate as you go, this will lead to a full plate to quickly. Try instead of filling your plate once try lots of little portions, they have a notice on the wall that if your take a load of food a waste you may be liable for additional charges.

There was an excellent choice and would you require a few visits to make your way around all the dishes. You pick up a clean plate every time you visit the buffet and the plates on your table are taken away quickly. The desert section of battered pineapple, pear and banana covered in syrup are extremely filling leaving me really full, a good feeling though. There is a selection of fruit and ice cream but I don’t never liked the idea of re-using the dispenser after being dipped in water to be cleaned  and reused.

The service was good and you don’t feel hassled so you can easily enjoy your meal.

I would be happy to recommend the Banana Leaf Chinese Buffet Restaurant for Sunday lunch and at £5.99 for a Super Lunch is worth every penny especially when it’s as much as you can eat. You can contact the Banana Leaf Chinese Buffet Restaurant 01642 247100 or email enquiry@bananaleafbuffet.com

HP Guinness Sauce and Mayo

Instead of adding your HP Guinness Sauce as an accompaniment and add a twist. Next time you have a helping of your favourite chunky chips why not take a standard shot glass, sherry glass or a clear plain egg cup per person and fill to 3/4 full of HP Guinness Sauce add a generous topping of mayonnaise our sour cream to make it and extra special Guinness dip. To finish off the Guinness theme open an ice could Guinness Draught fresh from the fridge. Perfect for St Patrick’s Day.

Google impose Content Farm Algorithm and kills websites

It seems that Google have activated their new Content Farm Filtering Algorithm in an efforts to reduce the effectiveness of content farms in make search better search results. Having a few sites of my own I find that the have gone completely of the listings. So am I a Content Farm, I think not, I enjoy finding information for my other websites and sharing it with others. Do I make any money from them, very little but Google see fit eliminate their effectiveness, Let’s hope that Google’s Algorithm team have a reality check and realise that to become popular people you need to be recommended or told about what’s on offer. If everyone wrote original content then nothing would ever be found as it would all be different. Another way to look at this is when there is a big event like the Super Bowl and everyone blogs about it is that Content Farming or are we not to talk about them.

So the big you’ve got to ask yourself is what is a Content Farm?

The easiest way to describe a content farms in one which copies content from another or those which don’t have added value ( not sure of the definition of added value) could be classed as Content Farms. Those sites which are classed as Content Farms and use Adsense will see a massive reduction in search results, ranking, their earnings and is against the terms of service. Again here it has a knock on effect to those happily making minor amounts to cover hosting costs and promoting other sites.

If you’ve been affected by google’s algorithm then please leave a comment.
